How could it be?

My SWEET baby Cooper turns one today…I can’t believe it! It seems like just days ago we were in the hospital and I heard Mike say (I swear his voice was a little shaky)…”b-boy…it’s a boy.”

Cooper is quite the big boy – already done with bottles and baby food and onto sippy cups with whole milk and food. He still has his pacifier for naps and bed. The only thing we’re working on is going to bed at night. Cooper goes down for naps great but seems to need some extra love and attention at bed time each night. . .that we’re happy to give! I can’t imagine life with out our Cooper Michael – Happy Birthday, sweet boy!

Best neighbors

We are lucky to have neighbors we like and friends for our kids to play with. Most summer afternoons you can find these kiddos having fun in the backyards we share. We will miss them when they move, but they’re certainly going on to bigger and better things (they’re moving to a horse farm not too far away)!

Sunday Best

We had a fun father’s day . . .it started out at pancakes and ended with a filet dinner and round of Happy Birthday to Nanny (my Mom’s birthday happened to fall on father’s day this year). A big thank you to both Mike and Nanny – I would be lost without you two.

Watermelon

. . . has become a staple in our house as Cooper (and Libby) love it. I thought watermelon was Cooper’s favorite but corn on the cob appears to be his favorite, watermelon is a close second!

Field Day

This post is a bit dated, but I wanted to make sure I mentioned Libby’s first field day! A few days before preschool ended, Libby had her first Field Day and I was lucky enough to be able to volunteer for it. Libby’s class made purple, tie-dyed shirts and had fun doing a variety of outdoor activities: tball, soccer, obstacle course, sponge relay and bubbles/sidewalk chalking. It was a great morning!

READY TO GO! Purple shirt (check!), purple sneakers (check), purple sunglasses (check!), purple flower hair clip (check!)

The class!

A medal and a popsicle to celebrate!

swim! swim! swim

Cooper and Libby both love the pool and swimming! We’ve been having a great time at our neighborhood pool, back yard kiddie pool and local splash parks. There’s nothing better than swimming with friends!

Weekend Away

Special thanks to my Mom who watched the kids from Friday – Sunday while Mike and I relived our college years and traveled to Bloomington for a wedding and fun with some of our favorite people at some of our favorite places:

wanna-be IU grads

a much needed break from managerial accounting!

Last Day

Libby had a great first year of pre-school…we are constantly amazed at all she learned in the past year and we are so thankful to Mrs. Gaynor, her teacher. Libby’s taking the summer off from school (well, she will tell you she goes to swimming school – also known as swimming lessons!), but asks pretty frequently when she gets to go back to real school (not swimming school). Pictured below are Libby and Mrs. Gaynor on the last day of school.
