Look who found their feet!

Mr. Cooper Michael is doing great…had his 4 month check-up and continues to impress us with his size! He’s in the 90th percentile for height and 50% for weight (a bit misleading – this kid is by no means a string bean – he’s thick . . .just like his mama!). Cooper is SO CLOSE to rolling over from his back to belly and has just started moving around the crib a ton (I often ask Mike, what end was his head on when you put him down?). Cooper is also really close to sitting up on his own. He’s enjoying rice cereal at least once a day. Four months seemed to be the magic age and Cooper is sleeping 11-12 hours most nights (HOORAY!). He still hasn’t transitioned into a morning and afternoon nap but that’s ok – it’s easier that way! The longest he’s staying awake is about 2 hours, sometimes as night he can make it 3 before heading to bed.

As the title of the post suggests, Cooper recently found his feet. He LOVES sucking on his fingers and putting everything he can hold onto in his mouth!

Mom and her sweet girl

Saturday is a day I hope I never forget. Libby and I spent almost the entire day together (Libby clarified many times that morning – “Daddy is going to stay with Cooper – it will just be you and me?” Me: “yes, Libby just you and me.” Libby: “the girls together and the boys together?” Me: “Yes, the girls with the girls and the boys with the boys.”) – we dressed in our Sunday best (note: I believe Libby wore more accessories than I did – pearls, bracelet, ring, a hat, etc!) and attended a performance of The Little Mermaid at a local theater. We had a great time – before the play started and our friends arrived, Libby turned to me and said Mom, this is my favorite part of the day (a “game” we play each night at dinner) – I about melted into a puddle right there.

After the show, we headed to Chick-Fil-A (her choice) and enjoyed a simple, but delicious lunch. From there we headed out on a few errands. Her and I were walking in the Target parking lot when she looked up at me and said “We don’t have Cooper with us . . . you can carry me!” – again, my heart skipped a beat. And there I was carrying all 40 lbs of my big girl through the Target parking lot. While Libby transitioned magnificently to the role of big sister, she obviously needs/enjoys some 1:1 time and I look forward to those moments as she grows up. We talked about plans to “get fancy” again and go out for tea with Nanny.
