Eggs-tra! Eggs-tra! Read all about it . . .

Sunday was a cold and rainy day. It literally rained all day. And as Libby kept reminding us “today is a lazy day”. We had an easy Sunday morning enjoying cinnamon rolls (oddly enough – Libby doesn’t like them!) and then Libby helped me make some pumpkin bread. After baking it was time to decorate Easter eggs – Princess Easter Eggs!
Libby had a great time dying the eggs. She especially loved the “wrappers” that shrunk around the eggs. We had a great time decorating 18 eggs. . .we’ll be eating egg salad for a long time after Easter!

Confession

I hate to admit this but I have become a HUGE Crocs fan. I have a R*E*A*L*L*Y hard time finding shoes that are comfortable for me (finding shoes for work is an outright nightmare – thank goodness I work from home in flip flops most days!). My most favorite, comfy shoes are my black, Olivia Crocs. I can walk all day in them and my feet don’t hurt (a miracle!).

I just added my second pair of Crocs to my shoe closet – meet Alice. On sale for $19.99 (43% off) + an addl 25% off and free shipping – what a bargain and did I mention, comfy?!

Can We Build It?

YES WE CAN!! Libby and Grace went to the Children’s Museum and had a great time at the Bob the Builder exhibit.

Bows

I make Libby’s hair bows and really enjoy doing so. I made a new design to match one of Libby’s dresses (that she wore especially for Henry’s 3rd birthday!). I used this photo for inspiration and think it turned out pretty cute. I am looking forward to making more flower bows for Libby and friends.

Crafty Girl

The Hunt’s gave Libby a Giant Busy Box for Christmas and it is filled with great craft projects. Yesterday was chilly and rained the entire day, so Libby and her sitter got out the box and went to work on a few projects. Here’s Libby proudly displaying her work (and wearing jeans. . .I don’t think Libby’s worn jeans for over a year – she’s a yoga pants kinda girl, but the roses on the “belt” and “rainbow” stitching on the back pocket convinced her to wear these!). The Busy Box is a great gift for boys and girls Libby’s age and older!

Holiday Confusion

Yesterday, Libby and I began decorating the house for Easter. She must have been a little confused (but I guess in the overall religious theme of things, she was on the right track) because she wanted to get out her Little People Nativity along with the bunnies, eggs and baskets!

Shamrock Shuffle

Mike ran and finished his first race on Sunday morning – the 8K Shamrock Shuffle in Chicago. He and 25,000 of his closest friends braved the elements to run. We had a small cheering section outside our hotel and had fun cheering on the runners. Libby wasn’t sure what to think – she kept pointing out that the runners didn’t have on coats! There were a few “fun” costumes she enjoyed . . .Tiger, leprechauns, Mr. Peanut. Congrats to Mike, Alison, Scott, Heather, Bob, Katherine and Bryan on finishing the race. Everyone met up after the race for a Mexican celebration and we had a great time catching up before heading home.

Next on Mike’s race schedule? The Hear Indiana Talk Walk Run 5K on May 1. There’s even a kids run for Libby!

Yummy Recipe

Libby and I spent most of last week at the Hunt’s (Mike joined us on Friday night) – many thanks to them for their hospitality. Alison made some yummy meals including this dessert on St. Patrick’s Day. It was outstanding, looked easy to make and perfect for any time (not just St. Patrick’s Day).

Cute Target finds and more

I love the internet and have found some notable, cute things I thought I’d share.

I adore Target and think this dress is just about the cutest thing and can you beat the price?! Now if the weather would cooperate – I’m ready for dresses and sandals.

Also, thanks to Laurie for the tip that Target will be carrying Lilly Pulitzer themed Animal Crackers – perfect for Easter Baskets. I’m hoping I can get my hands on a few for Miss Lib (and me!).

I took Libby to her 3 year Dr. appt yesterday and she continues to do well! She was in the 85% for height and weight. The Dr asked me and Libby a number of questions about her development. Dr. Jim was impressed with Libby’s complex sentences and the discussion we had. Dr. Jim encouraged us to work on pedaling her bikes/big wheels when the weather is nice (something she hasn’t really taken a liking to – she pedals from our driveway to our neighbors, but would rather walk or run).

Libby has become very opinionated in the last few weeks and getting dressed in the morning is often a challenge and often includes a trip to the naughty rug. I was expecting this when Libby was older, not 3! We’re trying different approaches (giving Libby choices, picking out clothes the night before, letting Libby pick out part of the outfit) but nothing seems to work. I’ll keep you posted :)
