Happy Mother’s Day
I took advantage of it being Mother’s Day Weekend and put Mike to work we did lots around the house. Last weekend we painted our office – it had never been painted…still builder’s white! We choose a nice mocha color and it looks great. Friday night Mike had the daunting task of hanging over 15 frames for a wall collage on one of the office walls. We’ve got 4 more frames to hang and I’ll post a picture when it’s done – I LOVE the way it looks.
Saturday morning we had a pre-mother’s day brunch at our house with Mike’s parents and brother/sister-in-law. Libby had a great time playing with her cousins Calvin and Kaia and it was fun to catch up with everyone over mimosas.
Saturday afternoon I took a nap and watched a few episodes shows on Mike’s new toy, the Roku. Saturday evening we had Chinese food and continued our tradition of watching a movie as a family. Libby always asks to watch Cinderelli or Nemo, but since it was Mother’s Day (and we’re trying to expand Libby’s movie tastes) I got to pick the movie! We watched Lady and the Tramp…Libby gave it two thumbs up but found the rat scene a little scary.
After Libby went to sleep Mike and I hit the basement, where we cleaned out 2 car loads of stuff. It feels so good to have less stuff and more room in the basement. We still have a little more work to do down there, but the basement looks 100% better.
Sunday (after I was able to sleep in!) we headed to Cafe Patachou’s newest restaurant, Petite Chou and had a great brunch. The rest of the day was spent together as a family – in the yard, on the swings…it was great.
