2 year photo

To mark Libby’s 2nd birthday, we took her to have her photo taken. She did a great job and was a little distracted (read: A LOT distracted) as she could see her FAVORITE movie MEMO (those at home, that’s Finding Nemo) from the photography studio. Our photographer had to return to the waiting room and turn off the movie so that Libby would cooperate with the picture taking!

Celebrate Banner

mantle1I’ve received a lot of questions about my celebrate banner that I had on the mantle for Libby’s party. I purchased it from Morgan on etsy and I love it. I also asked her to make a Happy Birthday one that I strung on our sliding glass door.

DANCE PARTY!

Emme and Dee Dee came over on Friday night for pizza and cupcakes. The girls had a great time together, including having a dance party while the parents played a little Rock Band!

Cupcakes!

We had Libby’s 2nd birthday party on Saturday and the theme was cupcakes! Below are some of the decorations/details. It was a fun day – the highlight was when all the guests left Libby gave Mike and I both a big hug and said “thank you, thank you, thank you for the party”. I don’t think I’ll ever forget that moment as long as I live.

Best.Shirt.EVER.

What a fun surprise to open my mail and find this fun and oh-so-very-appropriate shirt – love it. Thanks for the surprise, P.

I’ve been reading quite a lot lately; recently finished American Wife, finishing up The Book Thief and about to start The Middle Place.

Just keep spinning

spinning

A few nights ago we got out Libby’s big wheel and started teaching her how the peddle…she kinda got it! I love this picture because you can tell she’s really concentrating. Here’s hoping for warmer weather so we can get out there and practice some more!

Easter Garland

We’ve been having fun decorating for Easter and even hiding a few eggs to practice for our easter egg hunt! Libby’s helped decorate two easter trees (a big one in our entry way and a smaller one for the kitchen table) next on our list: dye some eggs.

For most holidays I try to find a cute garland to hang across our mantle. I’ve found quite a few cute ones at Michael’s or Jo Ann’s Fabrics but couldn’t find one I really liked for Easter until I opened a Parent’s magazine and saw this. I was inspired and made my own…I think it turned out pretty cute!

Just us Girls

Libby and I went to see a production of Sleeping Beauty at the Children’s Museum on Friday. We had a great time even though the Museum was a mob scene due to spring break. We left the museum after the show and were able to meet Mike for lunch at McDonalds – what a treat for all of us! Here’s Libby after we got home – apparently she wanted to go back out…she’s got my shoes on and is dragging my huge purse!
