2 trips down, 1 to go

Libby and two cousinsBack. We are back. After spending 90% of February out of town, we are home for a few weeks before one last weekend trip to Rhode Island.

Libby and I traveled to San Diego to visit my brother and his family after a fun visit from the Felde Family. We had a great time with Chad, Betsy and the girls. The highlight of their visit was going to Claire’s first birthday party. It was fun to see Gretchen and Brent and get all the girls together. We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Baby Boy (Charlie) Felde on March 28.

Our San Diego trip started out great. Libby and I flew to Dallas where we met Nanny and the three of us flew to San Diego. The weather was a little overcast, but in the 60s. Libby got to see the helicopter’s Uncle Sean flies and even got to sit inside one (although she was a little unsure).

Libby loved seeing her cousins Jackson and Avery. It’s amazing how big they both are. Jackson and Avery were both great with Libby – sharing their toys, having dance parties every night to Hannah Montanna.

Monday it rained so my Mom and I took the kids to see Hotel for Dogs; Libby’s first movie in the theater and she slept through most of it!

Our trip hit a little bump in the road when Libby got the stomach flu and everyone in the house followed suit…everyone but my Mom! We were down for the count for a few days. We started feeling better on Wednesday and we were back seeing the sites on Thursday.
Shannon and Libby at La Jolla
We went to La Jolla on Thursday and had a great time at the beach. Libby loved watching the waves, the sea lions, looking for shells and of course playing with the sand. Thursday night we had a great Mexican dinner at a restaurant in old Town San Diego. Libby and her cousins entertained everyone at the restaurant dancing to the mariachi band.

Friday we went to Sea World! I had never been and enjoyed it. We went to 3 shows – the sea lion and otter show, the Elmo show and the Shamu show. The Shamu show was my favorite! Libby loved the Elmo show and Sesame Street rides.

Saturday we returned home after a fun visit and lots of apologies for bringing the stomach flu with us. It was hard to get off the plan and see snow flurries after a week of 75!
