Cupcake
I finally used my large cupcake pan. It was easy to use, fun to decorate and all around cute!

We had a great weekend…weather was gorgeous! I love being able to open the windows to let some fresh air in. On Saturday morning (after Mike let me sleep in!) we headed to the Fall Festival Parade in downtown Zionsville. Libby had a great time watching the firetrucks, cars, band and people march by. She also loved the balloon she was given. After the parade we went to lunch at Carter’s Ice Cream parlor – it was great and a super cute, small, 60s diner setting.
After Libby’s nap we headed back to the Fall Festival to partake in the festival. The festival takes place in Lion’s park – the same park we play in most Saturday’s after the Farmer’s Market, so Libby had a great time playing on the swing sets and slides. We also walked through the carnival rides – Libby kept pointing to the rides and saying over and over – WOAH! WOW! WOAH!. I mentioned winning a goldfish for Libby, but that idea didn’t get very far. . . maybe next year. The highlight of the festival was the train ride Libby and I rode on. Mike took some great video; here’s a link. Libby was all smiles and truly seemed to enjoy herself.
Sunday I hosted a small shower for our new neighbors Dave and Lisa. They had baby Aidan 5 weeks early but everyone is happy and healthy. I was able to use my large cupcake pan and it turned out great (I’ll post pics soon).
I tried a quick and easy recipe for dinner tonight, thanks to the Kraft Food and Family mag. I was able to use lots of leftovers I had lying around…chicken, pork tenderloin and the caprese sticks I made for the shower. I cut up the tomatoes and added to the stuffing along with the canned. I mixed some of the mozzarella in with the stuffing and added the leftover on top. It was pretty good – very quick and easy!
Mike and I were able to watch two weekends this weekend – not sure the last time we were able to do that! We netflixed Atonement…it was ok. Friday night I got a phone call from our favorite photographer asking if the church we were wed in or priest that married us were in any movies. As a matter a fact a few years ago Father Seamus told my Mom and I that the church was going to be used in a film wtih Richard Gere and that he (Father Seamus) might have a role. So Saturday night, Mike and I stopped at the video store (can’t think of the last time we did that either) and picked up Bee Season. Not the greatest movie but it was fun to see Our Lady of Lourdes and Father Seamus as well as other sites in and around Oakland.
I was finally able to get a shot of Libby’s second tooth right after her bath. Note: it is the largest baby tooth I’ve ever seen. I think we may have skipped baby teeth and moved right to adult, permanent teeth – at least that would explain tooth #2 at 18 months!

I always love it when some of the blogs I read mention cute, cheap finds from Target, Old Navy, H&M or Forever 21. Last night while watching the Convention I did a little browsing at Forever 21 and found two cute tops. As with most of these stores I think the clothes are a mystery until you see them in person or try them on, but I wanted to highlight none the less! I think the zebra print would be cute for work or a date night with a black pencil skirt or pants. I am always attracted to wrap-tops like the silver one below. I often have a hard time finding outfits for fall, winter and early spring weddings/dressy events and I think this top might be a nice option.

My Mom commented on how long Libby’s hair is growing (it’s still pretty short in the front!). On Monday night she seemed very distracted while reading on Mike’s lap, so I ran to get a comb and hair ties. You can see the result below:

Libby didn’t seem to mind the pigtails once they were in, but I can tell I’m going to have to distract her when it’s time to do her hair.
In case you don’t read Mike’s blog, he’s posted two videos of Libby that are a must see (if I do say so myself):
Video 1 – Libby sings Silent Night with Nanny and the family at dinner last Thursday.
Video 2 – Libby does Rock a Bye Your Bear Dance with the Wiggles and Daddy. She just did this for the first time on her own on Saturday. . .we continue to practice every day! She does it better without the video…too distracting, I guess!
