Monday - Memorial Day

satc.jpg We had a pretty lazy Monday and we were able to enjoy the great weather.  We were sad to say goodbye to the Felde Ladies; Libby kept looking around the house for her friends!

Monday morning, I was finally able to check out SJPs Bitten line at Steve and Barry’s with some neighbors.  I scored a pair of jeans and a pair of white paints for $8 each.  Everything in the store was $8 or less!  I also got 3 pairs of Bitten earrings.  Bitten had an amazing selection of fun, cool t-shirts (also only $8).  They also had some t-shirts specific to Sex and the City (I’m with Mr. Big was my favorite - Heather scored one of those).  I’m looking forward to seeing the Fall line when it comes out.

So excited - getting dressed up, going out for cosmos and then to see Sex and the City with friends…should be a great time!

Saturday part 2 and Sunday

Saturday afternoon our friends from Chicago arrived. Betsy and her two girls Hailey and Brianna arrived for the weekend. It was fun to see them and Libby loved having playmates! We enjoyed Pizza Express/Hot Box Pizza and breadsticks for dinner and Libby and Hailey took a bath together. Libby could not keep her eyes off of her new friend Hailey all weekend.

On Sunday we welcomed even more girls to the Barron’s when Gretchen and Baby Claire arrived…Mike was really outnumbered this weekend. Gretchen and Claire traveled all the way from Atlanta to visit Gretchen’s parents in Noblesville. We had a fun visit and it was great to meet Claire for the first time. Libby was so excited to have 2 babies at the house. We read a book called Babies about 100 times a day, so to have two at our house was almost too much for Lib! She was very gentle and did a good job “pat pat pat” their bellies.

Mike’s got a pic of all the girlies here.

Sunday late afternoon brought a lot of excitement to our street as our neighbor is a mechanic Target/Ganassi racing and Scott Dixon won the Indy 500. It was fun to hear the stories from the day and celebrate with Matt that night.

Cupcake Saturday

Libby and I headed to Sweet Lucinda’s in downtown Zionsville on Saturday morning (while Mike was cutting the grass) for the decorate your own cupcake party.  We had a great time and met our friends the Stoner’s and Nathan there.  Libby especially enjoyed the big, stuffed animal dogs at Ballerinas and Bruisers.  We left with some cupcakes and a carrot cake sandwich.  Special thanks to Courtney’s husband for snapping a few shots of Libby and sending them to us.

We are looking forward to our tradition of heading to the Zionsville Farmer’s Market every Saturday morning and visiting Courtney and the other vendors.  The Market opens on June 7.

Go Colts!

We had a great Memorial Day weekend!  We kicked off the weekend with a hog roast and corn hole tournament hosted by Mike’s company.  The party was at the Colt’s complex and a good time was had by all!  Sadly, we didn’t do well in the corn hole tournament; we lost in the first round to the team that lost in the final.

Many thanks to Grammie B for watching Libby on Friday night.

M-I-C….K-E-Y

Libby loves the mouse ears we got her at Disneyland.  My sweet girl is constantly asking for help putting them on - I think all her accessorizing is so much fun.  As you can see from the gummy smile, still no teeth, but I think we are SO close!

Wedding/Weekend Re-cap

I’ve received lots of requests for details on our weekend in Houston…here you go:

Thursday - We left for Houston at the crack of dawn - 4:45 am!  Libby did great with the early wake up call and plane ride.  We on the ground in Houston by 7:30 am!!  My Mom arrived at 9:30 am, so we got our luggage/rental car and grabbed some breakfast close to the airport.  After Susan arrived, we headed to Casa de Martinez/Saenz and were quickly put to work!  My Mom and I worked with Ellen and Erin on packaging the 300+ homemade turtles Posey’s Mom made and cutting menu cards.  Libby and Posey’s niece, Ella became fast friends (the large screen TV broadcasting Seasame Street helped!).  After a lunch of Texas BBQ (I forget where it came from) we headed to the hotel so Miss Libby could take a nap.  Mike also napped and my Mom and I finished the placecards Mike and I made for the wedding.

We grabbed dinner at Jax Grill with the Martinez family and friends.  Chicked Fried Chicken and dessert in a chocolate sack were enjoyed by all.  Libby also enjoyed playing with a beer bottle in between rounds of peek a boo with the entire table (she’s quite the ham).

Friday morning started with an early pick-up from the bride to be.  She was getting a blow-out in preparation for some “engagement” pictures.  My Mom and I got manis and pedis while waiting.  I got my hair cut (it’s tragic, but hopefully will grow out soon - I won’t go into it, but once again no matter how much I explain and plead I end up with the chin length clump.  To my stylists credit, there wasn’t much she could do - so I’ll work on growing out the clump).

Friday afternoon my Mom and I did some shopping and tracked down a card box for the reception.  Friday evening, Mike and I were lucky enough to have the night to ourselves to attend the rehearsal and dinner.  A good time was had by all at the Armadillo Palace.  We ate great food, drank plenty of margarritas, watch a professional hand-role cigars and listened to the Jon Wolfe Band.  It was quite a treat to have a night out with friends (thanks, Mom).

Saturday started with a bridal luncheon, followed by make-up at the MAC store, and hair at Studio 3.  We got dressed at Posey’s alma mater and took pics with Nathan.  The ceremony and reception were flawless and I feel lucky to be a part of it.  Libby did great during the ceremony but got a little grumpy at the reception.  Special thanks to my parents for leaving the reception early to take Libby home and get her into bed.

Sunday we rallied and got up early to go to the much anticipated Buffalo Grille for breakfast.  The wait wasn’t too bad at 9:30 am and we all enjoyed a delicious breakfast.  Then it was off to the airport and time to go home!  Libby did great on the flight home other than going to the potty as we took off and now having terrible diaper rash.

We made a deal with the newly married Mr. and Mrs. Saenz that we would take turns visiting one another in our respective cities each year.  We are looking forward to welcoming the Saenz’ to Indianapolis in 2009!

Alive. . .

We’re all fighting colds, Libby’s teething…we’ve been out of town the past two weekends and had a great time but we’re trying to get back in the swing of things and playing a lot of catch-up.  Mike posted pics from Houston and Alison documented our weekend in Baltimore.

Tagged: 5 random things

Mike tagged me on his blog, so here are 5 random things about me:

(1) I love couscous, Near East brand to be specific.  It’s delicious and only takes 5 minutes to make…seriously, can you beat that?!

(2) I like to have nail polish on my toes at all times, even in the winter . . it creeps me out to have “naked” toe nails

(3) I talk to my Mom every day, most days 2-3 times.

(4) I am obsessed with cupcakes - if you are a cupcake or have a cupcake on you, chances are I’ll buy you.  I just bought Libby the cutest cupcake pajamas and shoes!

(5) My new favorite jeans are from Ann Taylor (thanks for the tip, Tiffany).  I have two pairs of the Curvy Fit, Lindsay Waist and I love them!
