Indy Baby Expo

I had the pleasure of helping Heather at her booth at the Indy Baby Expo on Saturday.  It was fun to show off Heahter’s amazing work and I also enjoyed looking at all the other exibitors.  It’s amazing how creative people are, below are links to some of my favorites:

Trendy Sister: I only wish I could sew like this; I love the fabric and styles!

Bugaboo Shoes: love these - so cute!  Libby’s feet are *almost* big enough to fit in their styles.

Aimee’s Bowtique: I got Libby the cutest cupcake bow and some bar clippies

Hair

short.jpglong.jpgI haven’t cut my hair in nearly a year…last July was the last time (yikes!).  I’m getting it cut in less than a week and I’m psyched.  I can’t, however, figure out what I want.  Long…short….I do know one thing, very little layers (check out the clump of hair on the left side in the Gorbi pic - every hair cut I get I end up with a tragic layer/clump just like that) .

I’ve been trying to find pictures or something of hair cuts I like but can’t seem to find anything.  I’m open to your ideas and suggestions…Any ideas out there?  I do have a few requirements: very little layers, very little product and I don’t have a lot of time in the mornings to spend on it - I’m a wash and go girl!  I’ve heard great things about the stylist cutting my hair; I can’t wait to see what we come up with!

Here are some examples for your viewing pleasure :)I must say, I’m leaning towards shorter. . .in the hopes to look a little older!  I never thought I’d say that, especially not the year I turn 30!  I answered the door the other day and the lady asked me if MY MOM WAS HOME!  I told her, “I am the Mom!!”.

Sittin’ pretty

L wore a skirt on Monday! I think this is the first skirt she’s worn without tights and since she’s mobile. I must say, she looks pretty cute!

Butterflies

The weather on Sunday was questionable…the sun couldn’t decide if it wanted to shine and rain was a possibility. Mike had to work, so my Mom, Libby and I headed to White River Gardens to check out the butterflies. Libby had a great time watching and pointing at the butterflies. We also enjoyed the outdoor gardens - it turned out to be a beautiful day!

How I spent last week . . .

I didn’t spend all of last week stuck in this pose, but I did spend a good part of the week getting ready for President Gorbachev and his entourage’s arrival at my event.  It was an amazing experience to meet and have lunch with this amazing world leader.  He was gracious, down to earth, well spoken and funny!

I say it over and over again, “I have the best job in the world.”  I also have the best family in the world!  Many thanks to my Mom who came out to watch Libby while I was out of state for the week, to Mike for being so upbeat and positive about everything (including the fact that his mother in law moves in a few times a year), to Miss L who I missed terribly, but was waiting for me with open arms, a big smile and a few new tricks up her sleeve . . .I can’t thank you enough for being such a good girl both when I’m gone and when I’m home, and to my Dad for living the bachelor life every once in a while while my Mom is here.

House wish list

corner-hutch.jpegNow that we have a large purchase under our belt (I got a new car) and we’re done with construction (front porch addition and hard wood floors). I’m starting to think about other large purchases and there are some new things I’d like for around the house. We’re still in save mode, but a girl can dream can’t she?

China Cabinets:
Our dinning room is long and skinny and I’d love to get two corner cabinets to house our crystal and china. I like having glass doors to show off some pieces but also like the wood doors to hide some clutter! Here are a few options:

Option 1 I like the drawer
Option 2 Price seems too good to be true, I’m worried about the quality

New TV Stand:
We have a black tv stand that Mike bought at a garage sale for $1. It’s wide open (no doors) which presents a problem with Little Miss L; we currently have our ottoman in front of the VCR/DVD player to prevent any button pushing. We’re not sure if we want an armoire or more of a stand.

Option 1
Option 2 I’m not crazy about the open space, doesn’t solve our button pushing problem!

New Kitchen Chairs:
We have a kitchen table that belonged to my Great-Aunt and Uncle (my Grandpa’s sister, I think). I love it. I do not love the old fashioned Captain’s chairs. New chairs are low on our priority list since after most meals one of them is covered with all kinds of food. Here are some I’ve seen and liked:

Option 1 It’s hard to tell, but the seat looks like the same color as our table.
Option 2 Love the straw bottom but I’m worried on how it will wear/hold up especially with messy kids.
Option 3

Lil’ Cheerleader

When I was little I wanted to be a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader . . I even had gray/silver boots, just like them (on a side note, I wanted to be a Cowboy cheerleader because my brother liked the Cowboys. . .but I’m not sure why or how he started liking them. . .maybe because my Uncle Mark liked them?). I was looking at these pictures I snapped of Libby and couldn’t help but think she looked like a little cheerleader . . .I wonder if she’ll want to be a Colts Cheerleader when she gets bigger?!

After all, she’s got a great smile, she raises the roof and claps . . . CLAPS BIG!

Let the sun shine!

We’ve been blessed with beautiful spring weather the past few days and Libby has loved it. We’ve been exploring in the backyard, playing on the swing set and going on lots of walks. We have a new rule in the house for Libby - if you’re outside, you have to have a hat on (I must have said that 100 times on Sunday!). I can’t get enough of L in this hat…so cute!

Libby looks dainty and girlie in her hat, but you should see her clothes at the end of the day - full of grass stains and dirt! Her little shins “look like she’s been playing soccer without shin guards” according to Mike. Libby tries to keep up with all our neighbors who are 3-4 times older (at least).

Best-husband-evah!

Mike came home from a weekend of celebrating Pucci’s last days as a single guy with a smattering of goods from Sweet Mandy B’s…one of my favorite places. He brought home a variety of treats that were all outstanding! You can’t beat white cupcake and white frosting, but Mike has a new favorite, the cookie-frosting sandwich…it was pretty darn good!smbs.jpg

Messy Head

Now that Miss L has a little more hair (she sported a bow again this weekend), it’s funny to see what she’ll look like when she wakes up. Libby likes to sleep with her head next to the crib bumper, most of the time wedged in the corner of the crib bumpers. Here’s a picture I took of her messy head the other morning.
