Recipe Rut
I am in a recipe rut…I feel like we eat the same things over and over. Anyone out there have any quick and easy recipes for dinner? I haven’t tried the margarritta chicken I posted about, so maybe I’ll try that…but I need some help!

My Nana (where Libby gets her middle name) was big on the generational shots. One of my favorite pictures is of me (at the age of 3, I think) my Mom, my Nana and my Great Grandma at my Aunt Debbie’s wedding. So in honor of her we took this photo when my Mom was here. Now if this were in true honor of her, we’d cut out her picture and super-impose her in here (Nana had been known to do this). After we took this photo and looked at it on the computer monitor, I realized all three of us have the exact same color blue eyes (not to mention heavy eyelids)!

Sorry for the lack of posts last week. The first part of the week was spent going on a day trip to Chicago (it was the longest day of my life!!) and the second half of the week brought a fun filled visit from my parents. My brother also joined the fun on Friday. Libby had a great time with her Grandparents and her Uncle Sean. I had a great time watching Libby interact with her family. Libby gave and received lots of raspberry’s (as you can see in the photo below!).
I was most surprised how well she took to her Uncle Sean. Every time she saw him, she leaned toward him asking him to take her (this really surprised me because Libby is starting to get slightly weary of men she is not familiar with). Mike and I enjoyed listening to Libby giggling over the monitor as her and Sean played in her room.
We’re counting the days until our next visit with the Cross’. . . we miss you!

Mike and I will celebrate our 4 year anniversary this week. I can’t believe we’ve been married for 4 years and I can’t believe we have such a beautiful, amazing, well behaved daughter. I am so very, very blessed to have these two in my life and I thank God for them every day….many times a day!
It’s breast cancer awareness month, so I thought I’d post something that I adore and helps a good cause (10% of the proceeds from Red Envelope’s Think Pink will go to the Entertainment Indsutry Foundation’s Women’s Cancer Research Fund). I can think of nothing better to wear on a crip fall day than this silk and cashmere cardigan shawl. I just want to curl up on the front porch, with a mug of hot apple cider, Mike and Libby and enjoy the changing leaves, pumpkins on everyone’s stoops and the cool breeze. Of course, it’s supposed to be 90 and humid this weekend, but the weatherman told me fall weather is right around the corner!
Don’t forget to CLICK HERE to give free mammograms.
I’ve had a song by Sara Bauer, one of Libby’s super-sitters, in my head since Saturday and I love it! In addition to singing it, Sara wrote the song. For those of you with myspace accounts, you can hear the song on Sara’s old myspace page. Title is Just For Being Me (the other two songs are great, too). Enjoy….and someone help me get a new song in my head!
