New recipe to try

My Mom knows how much I enjoy margaritas…frozen…on the rocks…salt…no salt…it don’t matter…I don’t discriminate…I love them all.  This is why she recommended Sandra Lee’s Margarita Chicken recipe.   I can’t wait to try it…anything that has margarita concentrate and TEQUILA in it can’t be bad.  P.S. the mini key lime cheesecakes also look fantastic.

New Magazine

veralogo.gifIt was another girls night at the Barron’s tonight (Dad had to work late).  After dinner Libby and I went on a short walk to the post office.  I was surprised to have received the newest magazine to hit the newstand, the premiere issue of Vera Bradley Magazine.  At first I thought it was a catalog, but upon further inspection I realized there were articles such as: Nesting in NYC, how to throw the perfect cocktail party, fall coats, teacups & pearls you’ll adore.  It looks like the magazine will come out quarterly - the premiere issue is for Autumn.  I searched the Vera Bradley website but couldn’t find any mention of the magazine.  What will the big company out of Fort Wayne come up with next?!  By the way, have I mentioned how much I heart the mod flower pink?!

Rocking chair. . . .check!

Tiny rocking chairsAdirondack chairs. . .check! Front porch. . .in progress . . .but lookin’ good! We found these two child size rocking chairs at a garage sale on our way home from the Farmer’s Market on Saturday morning and they are perfect for our front porch! Actually the white one is perfect for the front porch and the light wood one we have in our family room because it matches our furniture in there. They will both be perfect for Libby next summer - I was so excited about the timely and cheap find!

Baby, it’s cold outside!

A Libby in sheep’s clothingIt was a balmy 47 degrees when I woke up on Saturday morning (by the way, Libby and I had a rockin girls night in on Friday night when Dad went to play poker with the boys. Libby was in bed at 7:40 and I was in bed at 9:40!). We bundled up Libby in this fantastic full length fleece that Matt and Alison gave us last Christmas; I never thought we’d be using it in September but it kept Libby nice and warm on such a crisp Saturday morning. We got lots of compliments on our cute little lamb from everyone at the Market! There are only 3 weeks left of the Zionsville Farmer’s Market. . .I am not sure how we are going to spend our Saturday mornings.

Bundled Up

img_0454blog.jpgLibby and I have been getting bundled up in the morning to go outside and watch the kids get on the bus - it’s been chilly! I swear, watching the bus is the highlight of her day…well, Dad’s arrival home is *the* high point, but she loves going to the bus stop each morning, visiting with the kids and watching the bus EVERY morning in amazement. I took this photo this morning (yes, that’s an Ewok on her hat…yes, she has a matching romper…she’s her Father’s Daughter) after we watched the big yellow bus go by!

Today was also Libby’s six month check-up. I am happy to report Libby is a healthy girl, weighing in at 18 lbs 2.5 oz (90%) and stretching out at 28.25 inches (off the charts!). Libby had a rough time with her shots (especially the oral vaccination), but was her happy self again shortly after we left the Dr’s office.

Winter Hat Fun

Libby is ready for winter!! I swear in the second picture she’s grumbling to herself about being forced to wear a hat out of season and having a dorky Mom.
