Getting by with a little help from comfortable shoes!

merrell_spire.jpgIt’s official - I am well on my way to being a mom! Gone are the days of trendy shoes. No more fashionable pointy toe heels - I just can’t do it anymore! These days Dansko and Merrell brand shoes are my favorites. I can’t wear the traditional Dansko clogs, but I am fond of Dansko’s Madigan and Babette styles for work. Merrell tends to have more casual, weekend shoes and sandals but I do like the Spire Leather Boots (pictured) and can get away with them at work.

I was really excited about Crocks, until I tried them on! They were not nearly as comfortable as I thought they’d be and I tried on a variety of styles. Their flip flops were recommended to me, so I’ll have to give those a try when spring arrives.

Between this post and my post about Chicos jeans, I am doomed! No doubt I’ll be featured on What Not to Wear or Oprah in a few short years.

Thanks for your patience

Life is somewhat back to normal. I survived two weeks preparing for and delivering what had to have been the largest training session Accenture has ever conducted for Senior Executives. It was a challenging, exciting, exhausting and successful two weeks. Now that the session is over, I will spend the next month training a colleague to take over my role on the April session (when I am on maternity leave). When I return from maternity leave in June, I’ll take the session over again in July.

One big project ends and another begins - getting ready for the baby! While Mike would say I am always “nesting” - I have started nesting in full force and feel a sense of urgency to get everything ready: the room, clothes, bags to take to the hospital. Tonight our neighbor Heather of A Little Piece of My Art.com is coming over to talk about the border/mural she is going to paint around the nursey. I am hoping to get the crib made and curtains hung before the weekend. My Mom arrives Friday for a long weekend, so there’s no doubt she will be a great help in getting things ready. I’ll post pictures when everything is complete.
