Home remedies for garbage disposal
Every so often our garbage disposal gets a funky smell. On last Tuesday’s show, Rachael Ray shared some great tips for removing the funk with out chemicals:
(1) Fill an ice cube tray with white distilled vinegar and freeze. Drop a few frozen cubes into the disposal to freshen, unclog and disinfect the disposal.
(2) Pour 1 cup of coarse salt down the drain, followed by 3 cups boiling water.

Another great “cleaner of disposals” is an orange. That’s what I usually do when we have older uneaten ones. Cut in quarters and run the disposal. You will get the most wonderful smell, and you know all those cleaners make with orange oil ? Same effect!
